I want a tooth implant my NHS dentist cant do this

Q. I am looking for a tooth implant.Cost is not really the most important thing, although of course it is important s I am an ordinary person. The thing is, I was told by my regular NHS dentist (who said that she could not do it because of lack of experience), that I would need a sinus lift to make sure there is enough bone. Would a mini implant make this lift not necessary…and would a mini implant be as good as one on a sinuslifted base? And, can you reccomend a dentist who can be trusted? I live in Derbyshire and am wiling to travel even as far as London if necessary. Please will you email me the response directly as well as I don’t have regular access to the net.Many Many thanks.

A. The mini implant is much narrower than a conventional implant it is not shorter, Cases with restricted space in the sinus region are generally lacking hieght and thus the mini implant wouldnt help to solve the problem. Also at the back of the mouth the biting forces are higher and generally larger volume fixtures are desirable.
Some manufacturers produce short fat implants for this region. Bicon is one example I have used.
For patients having implants close to significant anatomy such as the Sinus we recommend a Cone Beam CT Scan , It produces a 3D image of the jaw and answers some of the questions that you are asking
