Q. I don’t know how to start these. :/ But, I’ve always had a gummy smile, I’ve always been made fun of because of it. I had braces on for five years, and yet, I still have a gap on one side of my two front teeth. I never even smile that much in pictures, because I fear embarrassment. I believe my smile is controllable, but why tolerate that and not get it corrected? I absolutely despise my gummy smile and also my poor enamel, which show white marks at the tip of my two front teeth. I just wish I could afford corrective gum surgery and porcelain veneers. I was wonder what the cost would be after insurance? Or at least an estimated cost. If not that what else should I do? Plus, I feel as if my teeth are already long and the gummy smile correction will make them even longer? or would you shave the teeth down? Thank you so much for taking time and reading my question. I just wish for the impossible.
A. Hi
I am sorry to hear about your circumstances.
Regarding costs, many practices offer finance plans to allow you to spread the cost from 1 to 5 years.
Unfortunately many insurance companies to not compensate for this form of cosmetic treatment.
I would recommend you book in for a consultation with a highly qualified cosmetic dentist to discuss your options and budget. Unfortunately I can not provide this for you without looking at the mouth in detail.

Q – I have very small teeth with jagged edges and a big gummy smile, I want to make my gumline smaller and my teeth longer. Is it possible to have gum surgery to alter my gum line and bonding to elongate my teeth? Or would I need to have veneers? Do you think veneers would be a better option anyway? Many Thanks!
