I think I may need veneers in the future, how natural looking are they?

Q.
Hi,

I’m 16 years of age and i neglected my teeth for just over 2 years and i had an x-ray and my dentist said 10 teeth could go wrong in the future so i took control and brushed my teeth 3 times a day and found out what my teeth really looked like, lines down the middle (probably because of the excesive amount of coke and pepsi i consumed) now i brush 3 times with durapat 5000 and rinse once a day with fluorigard, i’m doing my best but i think im going to need veneers/crowns in the future, i would just like some advice on am i doing all i can do in the time being, and are crownss/veneers natural enough so people couldn’t fool them for real teeth?

many thanks

Hi

Glad to hear you’re turning things around.

I’d advise you keep doing what you are as well as monitoring closely, and keeping to the very minimum, your daily sugar consumption.

Visit your dentist regularly as well and see a dental hygienist at least twice a year or more often if your dentist has recommended you to.

As far as the veneers/crowns are concerend, well they can look as lifelike as you’d like, but the quality of the result will depend on not only the skill and experience of the cosmetic dentist but also the laboratory technician that is used.

Here’s a link to show you the kind of quaity that can be achieved and try to see if you can tell which of the front teeth is artificial and which is real?!
