I Suffer Badly From Toothache. My Dentist Thinks It’s Tooth Sensitivity. Should I Get A Second Opinion?

Q.
Hi Mark. I went to dentist today due to suffering badly from toothache! I was told I grind my teeth in my sleep as my front teeth are very worn! He X-rayed and sent me away with sensitive toothpaste as he is sure it’s sensitivity! However tonight I am in complete agony is this normally for sensitive teeth? I have taken painkillers but they haven’t helped! I don’t know whether a second opinion might be useful although I have never had any concerns about my dentist before. Thank you for your time.

Hello and thank you for contacting me. Go and see a specialist endodontist as soon as you can or another dentist for a second opinion as this will likely give you a better idea of what it could be. I would need to see your case in person to determine the cause of this pain. In the meantime, I would suggest you steer clear of extremely hot or cold food and drink. If you’d like to read information on tooth sensitivity you can find it through this website. Regards, Mark.
