I recently noticed that i have a cracked tooth
Q. I just recently noticed that i have a cracked tooth where i have already had a filling about a year ago. Early today i was brushing my teeth and noticed a chunk of the top of my tooth was missing and i looked in the mirror and noticed that all i can see is a little of my gums and the rest of my tooth which has some blackish spots. It doesn’t hurt but i’m worried its worse than i think and i’ll need a root canal. please help me understand what this is.
A. Many teeth have cracks present in them and give no symptoms. Sometimes large amount of tooth structure can break off and surprisingly give no pain. You may or may not require a root canal tretment. By visiting a dentist as soon as possible will give you the best chance of haveing a simple restoration.
