i really dont like my teeth i think one or two are crooked and a lil gap in between them. what can i do ?

Hi…am 22 years old i asked my dentist if he thought i needed braces he said no…then i said how about retainer? he laughed and said the braces come first and if you dont need braces then you will not need a retainer… he said i will only need some whitening done on my teeth and i’ll be good. i really dont like my teeth i think one or two are crooked and a lil gap in between them. what can i do ? what do you recommend?

maybe you should seek a second opinion from another dentist. i agree a retainer is usually only needed after orthodontic treatment. if teeth are moving despite this you need to be investigated to find out why
