I just had crowns and bridges and my gums are receding

Q. I just had crowns and bridge work done and it seems that the crowns I can see all the recession on the top of them my dentist said the gums will come over that I was in temporary for 5 weeks and now have had the crowns in for 2 weeks and the gums are still not coming down over the crowns. Is this normal does this take a long time or were these crowns not placed correctly. thanks for your help.

A. Gums can become very inflamed around temporary restorations. If this has happened it can take several weeks for the inflammation to resolve. Follow strict oral hygiene methods and brush from the gum to the crown. Hopefully the gum will recover and grow to the position that is acceptable to you.
