I have some teeth that arent Straight how much do invisalign braces cost

Q. I have some teeth that arent straight but as i am an adult am reluctant to wear braces. Ive heard of invisalign and braces that go on the back of your teeth, whats best, how much will it cost and are there any practioceners in my area? many thanks

A. Dear A,

Invisalign braces are not fixed to your teeth. Moulds of your teeth are taken and the clear plastic removable brace is fabricated. This is then changed every few weeks as your teeth move. Length of treatment depends on how crowded your teeth are. Invisalign is not suitable for everyone. The other type of braces are lingual braces. These are fixed brackets that go on the backs of your teeth.
Unfortunately I cannot give you costs or treatment lengths as I have not seen your teeth. You will be looking in the region of £2000 to £3000.
The alternative to braces is of course veneers but this requires your teeth to be shaved down slightly and depending on the crowding can involve between 4 and 10 teeth, sometimes more. My advice would be to have a consultation with an orthodontist and with a dentist who places veneers, someone with experience so that you can make a decision knowing all the options
Kind Regards

Rosie its not free if you are under 18 invisalign costs money even if you are under 16! the only thing you may get for free are metal braces on the NHS. Invisalign do offer a product called invisalign Teen which is designed for teenagers but it does cost a similar amount to adult invisalign.

I had invisalign 4 years ago and it cost me £4000 i know you can get it much cheaper now though but do choose an invisalign doctor that is highly experienced.

hello My son has the invisalign teen series for his teeth and it has been 2 weeks of wearing his second aligner and the spot hasn’t faded. It happened fine on the first aligner and although he says the aligner feels looser i just wanted to check before he went on to the next aligner. Like i said the aligner is loose so do you think he should move on to the next brace? thank you for your help

August 30th, 2011 at 08:47 PM

Try in the third aligner if it fits well move on and keep a mental note of how long your son is wearing each aligner.

hi are you able to spread the cost of invisalign into easy to manage payments? I’ve seen that average price for treatment is £3000-£3500 and I just wouldn’t be able to pay that up front, but if i could pay off about a 100 a month i reckon i could managed.. thanks

September 29th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Lucy Says :

it is possible but depends on the practice that you go to. Nowadays many practices offer finance options to help spread the costs into monthly payments to fit your budget

October 6th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Amira Says :

yes we do offer interest free plans for up to 18 months or a low interest plan for 3 years, which should help you spread the cost of the Invisalign brace treatment

is it true that invisalign lite it cheaper and if so can it treat a gap between my front teeth? There are so many options now I would advise you to have a free consultation so you can see all the different options. The choice will come down to your budget, timeframes and whether you ar ewilling to have treatment that is visible.

hi. i am 19 years girl who attends university and works closely with others. i was wanting to have clearstep/invisalign braces but wasnt sure if it was the best option. i wanted a quick but natural fix and wasnt to keen on veneers. i have moderate crowding on my bottom teeth and my top two front teeth are slightly wide and rotated..what would the approximate time be to correct this. i dont want metal braces as i am already self conscious as it is. thankyou

November 2nd, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Carson Says :

the time it takes for treatment depends on the amount of crowding. This can only be answered by examining the mouth. If it is slight crowding then it should take 6 months to 1 year.

i am looking to have my two crossed over front teeth straightened and have been doing a bit of online research. I think invisalign sounds great, as you can’t see it when you wear it, but i just wonder how effective is it in comparison to braces that are fixed to your teeth with the wires and everything. Are fixed braces usually faster than invisalign? thank you

November 16th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Erik Says :

Hi Invisalign treats most cases that regular braces do if worn correctly, but can take a little longer than with wires. If ‘invisible’ braces appeal to you but you’d like wires for speed and efficiency, have you thought of lingual (inside) braces, such as Incognito? Good luck

Lucia Says :

had metal braces to straighten teeth but was also suposed to correct my bite. 9 months after removing braces and wearing retainers i was told my teeth would come together on their own. I feel the pressure on certain teeth that come together faster and i am concerned about nerve damage not to mention the discomfort.. can invisalign correct an uneven bite?

November 16th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Marcella Says :

If your teeth do not meet together then this is a common problem with all braces. The teeth may naturally drift together, but if you want a quicker way then fixed braces would be better.

November 16th, 2011 at 08:47 PM

Hi I would suggest you get it built up with some composite resin before the Invisalign. Once you have completed the Invisalign this may need to be re-done, ‘tided up’ or even replaced with a veneer or crown. But definitely get it treated before the Invisalign

how do invisalign aligners affect crowns? i have two at the side of my front teeth and i would like to have my front teeth straighten as they are a little buck, is this kind of straightening available with invisalign? and do i risk any harm to the teeth that are crowned? thank you

November 21st, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Isaiah Says :

Hi there! There is no problem to move teeth that have crowns or if they do not need to be moved then that is not a problem either. With Invisalign we can customize each tooth movement and we do not risk damaging the crowns. Hope this answers your question. Bear in mind that if those crowned teeth are implants, then they will not move at all.

payment plans with a third as a deposit are available from most dentists at 0% interest. The monthly amount depends on your total fee

December 1st, 2011 at 08:47 PM

No that is not treue, you change the aligners every 2 weeks your dentist will generally give you 3-4 aligners at atime so you have to see him / her every 6-8 weeks.

Hi, i really need braces and have been looking into invisalign but i also have many allergies and have heard that some people have been found to be allergic to the invisalign brace. Is this true? If so are there any other options as i really want one of the invisalign braces as I am a lot older than most people who wear braces and feel a bit embarrassed. thank you

December 19th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Quintin Says :

Hi there! We will need to have a close look to your allergies and determine whether you may experience an allergic reaction. It is not usual at all to have a reaction to the aligners, since they are made from an inert plastic material. It would be best if we had a careful examination of your allergy history and make a call from there. Best Regards

February 13th, 2012 at 08:47 PM
Marianna Says :

Hi there. Invisalign is very good at closing spaced out teeth. Usually compared to crowding the process is quicker and easier as long as the spaces aren’t too big. I also tend to find ‘plastic across the gap’ not a major concern, especially as the gap is closing up throughout treating. I wish you luck with your treatment.

February 13th, 2012 at 08:47 PM

Does it make sense to have whitening first and then invsialign or invisalign first and whitening afterwards. My teeth are quite spaced and so i want invisalign to push them together again and obviously a nice bit of whitening to set them off. Which should I have first? thank you

Jessica Says :

Hi there, Whitening with invisalign can be done at any time of treatment. It really comes down to personal preference. It can be done at the start if the colour is really bothering you or at the end to finish things off. Commonly in my practice i will whiten whilst straightening which doesn’t waste any time it straightening the teeth. Many thanks

The dentist should be one of the top in your area based on the doclocator http://www.invisalign.co.uk but do have a consult. It should take about 30 minutes and you should be shown your teeth and also similar clinchecks based on your crowding. My consults take on average 40 minutes

I had traintracks when I was younger and didn’t have to have any teeth out, is this likely to be the case for the aligner? Thanks!

Inman alligner is a good alternative in mild crowding cases. It is not painful. The average price is from £1500 depending on the complexity of the case.

I’m looking for a cheaper option to straightening my teeth than invisalign, I would like an removable brace more than anything, as my teeth are quite prone to developing decay and i have it all under control now, but would worry if I had metal collecting bits of bacteria and plaque on my teeth and I dont see why I shouldn’t be able to have straight teeth just because I have susceptible teeth. I have a few gaps at the front of my mouth which i really dont find attractive and would really like to change. I have looked at the invisalign option but it looks so expensive! i have heard good thinks about the inman aligner and just wanted to know if I would be suitable for treatment thank you for any help you can give.

I have called up the practice, for a second arch it would be £1000. and retainers are £100 each. For both arches and retainers it would come to £1899. I was wondering what the average price be for both arches as I have read in your expert answers the average cost is £1500, is that just for one arch? I am worried I am paying too much for Inman aligners. I am keen on the price and how the method does not take as long as other teeth alignment procedures. I have wanted braces for 10 years! But the cost has put me off. Your answers are greatly appreciated, I look forward to your response.

Hi there, I also bought a voucher costing £889 for upper or lower arch. I was wondering if any other costs would crop up that may not be included in the voucher?

Hello, i have worn metal braces in the past for 2 years and lost the retainer afterwards but didnt bother in buying a new one, now i have a gap in the middle of my tooth front teeth and 1 gap either side of my top set of teeth (where i had my teeth removed for my last brace) i haven’t wore the retainer for about 6 months. i wondered if this is a big job or not? would it take long for my teeth to be perfect again.

Hello, I had a consultation for invisalign for crooked bottom and top teeth. Bit of an overbite with top. Consultation was twenty pounds, advised would cost 3900 to treat with 399 of this payable first when I receive 3d pictures etc. If decide not to go ahead then I don’t get 399 back. Is this common practice? They do offer interest free but not sure whether go ahead yet. Any advice welcomed.
