I Have Severe Toothache and Swelling Behind the Teeth. What Should I Do?

Q.
Hi there Dr Hughes. I’m wondering if you can help me with the problem I am currently facing. At the moment, my central incisor and lateral incisor are really painful. I can feel the pain throughout my whole mouth, it’s that bad. I even have a bit of swelling behind my central and lateral teeth. Please tell me what I should do to prevent this pain, and is it something serious? I have been experiencing the pain for the past three days but today is the worst of all. Thank you.
A.
Hi, thank you for your question and sorry to hear that you’re in pain. The most likely case is that you have a dental abscess and you need some antibiotics. Go to see your dentist as soon as possible and they will be able to treat you. Kind regards, Mark.
