I Have Recently Had Six Veneers Fitted. I Have A Black Line Appearing At The Bottom Of Two Veneers. How Can I Get Rid Of This?

Q.
Hiya. I’ve just had veneers done, six at the top, I’ve only had them done recently and already I have a black line appearing at the bottom of two of the veneers. I’ve tried brushing it away but it won’t go. I also feel my veneers are not very secure and could fall out at any time. I was made aware that this was a good cosmetic dentist. I am beginning to think that this is not the case.
Could you help to tell me what the black lines are and what I should do to be rid please?
Also how long should the veneers be sensitive for as my still feel very sensitive?

Thank you.

Hi. My advice would be to seek some feedback from the dentist who did the treatment first. Then if you are still unsure please go to a very highly respected cosmetic dentist with an excellent reputation. Things to look out for are:

Winner of smile awards and aesthetic dentistry awards on a consistent basis. These awards show a very high standard of results.

So if the cosmetic dentist is accredited with a BACD or the AACD or is soon to be so. This is also very difficult to achieve and would be a sign of true excellence in the field of cosmetic dentistry.

Ask other dentists who is the best to go and see.

Ask to see a portfolio of cases similar to yours and ask to see lots of examples not just one or two.

Ask which dental laboratory will have made your veneers. The skill and mastery of the ceramist is vital to getting the highest quality veneers made. Cheaper labs will produce work of lower quality.

I hope this helps.

The business you mentioned do not currently have as far as I know any of these highly esteemed awards. Maybe you need a much higher standard of treatment for better results. I and my team are happy to offer second opinions if you are concerned?

Regards

Mark.
