Q. I have really badly receding gums and I have problems with eating sometimes I tend to now only go for the soft option.I am only 40 and am always consious of how I look so I dont smile and show these awful teeth I also bite hard on my teeth without always realising day and night please is there anything I can do x

A. The first thing that you need to do is find out whether you have gum disease. This may be a reason why your gums are receeding and your teeth are unsightly. You need to go to a dentist that has a hygienist.
You could also have bite problems so the dentist that you see should have experience in dealing with bite and TMJ issues. Ask the dentist what kind of training he/she has in these areas.
