Q. I had a root canal done on my last molar, bottom right side. Right after the root canal I started getting a constant pain on my lower jaw. The root canal was done in July 2008, I have been dealing with this pain for almost a year now. I finally went to see a dentist, he thinks that one of the roots was not completely filled in and I may possibly have a hairline fracture right in the middle of the molar. He’s advising I do a re-root canal treatment but if it is fractured, he would have to extract the tooth and insert an implant. What should I do? Root canal? Just extract my tooth and leave it alone or do an implant? Can’t afford to pay an arm and a leg.
A. I would go with your dentists recommendation and try to re treat the rot of the tooth. You should know fairly quickly whether this is successful
