I have just been diagnosed with having gum diesase and my teeth are becoming loose

Q. I have just been diagnosed with having gum diesase and my front bottom teeth are loose, I have just had a crown on my upper front tooth which cost me £1200 pounds. what can I have done to my bottom teeth? I can’t afford £1200 per tooth and wouldn’t be able to have crowns or bridgework as the surrounding teeth would not support the loose ones as they are loose to? Many thanks

A. Hi

A crown wouldn’t help with the gum disease. You will need to consider gum treatments either with a Hygienist for less severe problems or a Periodontist for more advanced disease. If the teeth are very loose you may have to consider removal and replacement of the teeth, either with a bridge denture or implants.
