I have huge gums and tiny teeth what would surgery cost

Q. Hi there, I am very self-conscious about my smile. I have huge gums and very tiny teeth, they look like baby teeth still. My bottom front teeth wore away all the enamel from my top two front teeth and I have had essentially fillings put on the back of them to stop them wearing down further. I fear now though, that my bottom teeth are now wearing down even more now against these fliings and they’re tiny as it is! I have a deep bite and when I totally clench my teeth you can’t see my bottom teeth at all. I think I would be a good case study! I think I would need the whole lot done! I think I would need my teeth repositioned, gum surgery and possibly veneers, but I’m no expert. :o) What is your opinion and what would those procedures cost in total? Many Thanks, C.

A. Dear C,

It does sound that you urgently need a dentist to treat your worn teeth.

There are generally 2 ways to treat your problem , often combining the 2 treatment options.

It sounds as though your problems with your teeth wearing all stem from how your teeth are positioned in your arches.i.e. having a deep overbite/overjet. This could be treated using a brace, or opening your bite up with onlays and crowns, or a combination of the 2.

Within my practice this treatment would cost in the range of £10000 to £ 25000 depending upon exactly how bad your situation has become. Obviously before treatment could begin you would need a comprehensive assessment of your oral health to accurately detail all of your concerns and problems.

Hope this helps

Kindest regards
