I have had two crowns already fitted on the same middle

Q. I have had two crowns already fitted on the same middle back tooth within a year and I still have a problem! when I touch my tooth I have a sensation up into the gum and can feel the presure which I don’t feel on any other crowns. I have had the nerve removed on this tooth. My dentist doesn’t understand this but I don’t want to put up with it for 10 years or so!

A. Well even if you have had the nerve removed, it does not mean that the area cannot become infected. Just like the nerve once became infected, the root filling material that was placed in place of the nerve can also become infected. It may be that this has occurred, and so even if you have the crown replaced, it wil change this situation.

Speak to your dentist about re-root canal treatments and if this applies to you.
