I have had root treatment on a tooth fourth from the

Q. I have had root treatment on a tooth(fourth from the front} and the abcess on my gum has not fully gone. My dentist said I only have two options: to have the tooth removed now or to leave it and see what happens. He said there is no point having another root treatment. I don’t want to have a big gap showing when I smile, is there a alternative? Thanks

A. There is the option of an apicectomy which is a small surgical procedure to remove the abscess from the gum. I would go to a root canal treatment specialist for this. If you are not keen on this then you should go to the specialist and find out from them what the prognosis of a re root canal treatment would be
