I had new lower dentures fitted, but can not eat well, my wife has to cook special food for me.
The top which had not been replaced ! is falling downwhen I am eating and speaking. Have been back to the Dentist, he suggersted IMPLANTS, I am 80 and have Alzheimer’s.

Dear Enquirer,
You poor thing. You should go back yo your dentist and see what they can do to improve the fit of the top denture…sometimes it simply needs relining and it should become more secure. Upper dentures are normally not a problem when it comes to stability. The lower dentures take a little more getting used to and rely on the muscle control from your lips and cheeks, which does take some practice. You may find a denture fixative powder /cream helps you in this early stage with the new lower denture, but please go back once you have tried this and your dentist will advise as necessary.
