I have had one tooth refilled a number of times and now some of the healthy tissue is breaking off, what can I do?

Q.
Hi there. I’m only 18 but one of my teeth had to be refilled a number of times, and now has a temporary filling. Now however some of the healthy tooth tissue is breaking off with relative eas and there is hardly any of it left. I’m worried if I go back to my dentist that he will have to drill this out, resulting in the whole tooth falling apart. Is it possible this will happen andf if so what can I do about it?

If it needs rebuilding then a normal filling may not be strong enough, you may need to consider a porcelain inlay or crown if the tooth is very broken down
