I have gum recession

Q. I am a 35 year old women with a 3 year old child. I have gum recession and I was wondering what i could do to stop this from carrying on. I have been told by my dentist that on the whole my gums are healthy, they dont bleed when brushing, but after years of brushing my teeth too hard and i bite down hard when im stressed (both in sleep and awake) this has caused my gum recession. Clearly i am concious of this as your smile is important to a women and i was wondering what i could do about this. I brush and mouthwash everyday without fail.

A.

I like electric toothbrushes like braun or phillips Sonicare. They have good brushing action that leaves you to concentrate on getting the head in right place and not putting on too much pressure.
