I have gum disease, is there any treatment for this?

Q.
I have gum disease with my teeth becoming loose and I have lost several of them. I am also susceptible to abcesses. My dentist reccomends nothing but visiting the hygienist and using Corsydyl paste and mouthwash, which I do, but the problem is not improving. Is there any cosmetic or surgical treatment I can have to improve this problem?
A.
If conventional hygienist visits with deep cleaning over several visits does not help you, then the first thing you need to do is to be referred to a periodontist who can offer other treatments like surgery if needed.
