I Have Gaps Starting To Form On My Top Teeth. What Can I Get Other Than Braces To Fix This?

Q.
Hi Dr Hughes. I have gaps starting to form on my top teeth, these include between the front two (slightly) and beside each tooth on the opposite side of my front teeth. I am 17 and I want to know what I can get to help (apart from braces). I have seen on the internet that you can get bands to buy to reduce the gap in your teeth, but I want to know what other options are available for me to help the situation. This has only been the case for 4-5 months now. It would be great if you could help me with some advice about what I should consider doing. Thank you!

My advice is to go and have a consultation in person with an orthodontist or dentist experienced on orthodontics or a cosmetic dentist who can help with both straightening techniques and other ways of closing gaps (such as cosmetic bonding).

Once you have been examined carefully and a reason/diagnosis of the gaps is found, then appropriate treatment can be suggested. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Mark.
