i have dental insurance i want to know does silver in a gold crown have mercury?

Q. Want FGC on#19&20.Insurance covers 50%.Dentist/office will only order a 20% gold crown-they claim this i standard- anything higher would be too soft.Would this be in the base metal category?I want noble/high noble.I’m covered, why won’t they let me have it?This dentist is in my insurance”network”.Also, does silver in a gold crown have mercury? Many thanks.

A.

No mercury in crowns but > 60% gold content (rest mainly precious) is best.
