I Have Confidence Issues As I Struggle With My Dentures. Do You Know If The NHS Will Provide Me With A Fixed Brace?

Q.
I know you may have covered this before but I need to find out. I had a total clearance a while ago and I am now on my second set of full dentures. It is impossible for me to eat any real food. If it’s soft, sloppy and tasteless then that is about all I can manage without them falling out. I have used dental paste, and it’s still no good. It is making me ill. My diet is poor, my self esteem is suffering and I cannot face being in social circles because my teeth just wont stay still. I live alone and am becoming more and more isolated which is leading to serious depression, I have now been advised to consider medication by my doctor

is it possible to have a fixed bridge on the NHS? I understand that this will wipe out all of the issues I have mentioned.

Please advise me.

A.
I cannot advise you on NHS treatment as I am not familiar with it. This site advises on Cosmetic Dentistry which is not available on the NHS as it is most often elective treatment. Try contacting your local NHS health authority for advice, find an NHS dentist and have an examination and consultation or contact your local dental hospital if they can help. I hope you can get your problems fixed.
