I have booked an appointment with a cosmetic dentist

Q. I have booked an appointment with a cosmetic dentist just to do some cosmetic bonding. On the website there is not much information about the dentist himself. Is there a way I can find out if this person is definitely qualified etc?

A. They will be listed on the GDC dentist registration.  There is no official speciality of cosmetic dentistry in the UK.  Many dentists are very experienced in providing cosmetic dental treatments - on the BACD web site dentists who have achieved accreditation status are listed.  These dentists have had to present specific types of cosmetic procedures to a panel of dentists who judge whether certain criteria have been met.
