I have been told to have full dentures as I have gum disease

Q. Hi i have an upper partial denture, i have been told basically i will have to have full dentures as i have gum disease, can a normal dentist do this procedure or would i have to go into hospital for this, and would they take them all out in one go and also how long would i generally be off work for. Kind Regards.

A. A normal dentist can carry out this procedure. You will probably have the teeth removed and your new deture placed in the same appointment.
If you have gum disease the teeth should come out fairly easily so there is no need to worry. You may need some sutures depending on how many teeth are removed
Kind regards
