Q. I have been informed I cannot have implants as the nerve in my lower jaw is too close to the surface. I need molers as I still have front teeth. I have had dentures but find them difficult. Any suggestions to help me.

A. I would 1st take a CT scan of the jaws to determine the exact position of the nerve. I would then consider rebuilding the bone either with a piece of bone taken from the lower jaw or for smaller defects, artificial bone.

You will need advice from a dentist experienced in this type of treatment to carry it out.
