I have been in Central America and my tooth has broken. It is so bad that I can now see the root. What will become of the gum once the tooth is removed?

Q. About 1 year ago a very old filling in a molar fell out. I was in central america at the time and was reluctant to see a dentist. I am still in central america and since then the tooth has broken and the gums on the outer portion surrouding this tooth have worn away. It has gotten so bad that I can now see the root. I know that I must have the tooth removed but would like some advice as to what will become of the gums surrounding this tooth? Thank you for your attention to this matter.,
A. Remove the tooth and the gum will heal, you could then have a replacement when the bone has healed
