I have badly neglected my teeth

Q. I am 62 years old and I have badly neglected my teeth, I have a partial denture and the rest of my teeth are uneven, roots showing etc. In some cases the bone has worn away. All my bottom teeth are okay but very uneven, I don’t know if crowns will be able to rectify the damage. If so I would need approx 16 crowns and a partial denture of 6 teeth. Can you advise on suitability and approx cost?

A. It is very difficult to advise you on suitability. You would need to have x-rays taken, assessment of the health of your gums, mobility scores and then a treatment plan could be devised. If you have a full mouth rehabilitation which is possible you could end up spending between £10,000 and £20,000 depending on your needs.
You need to go and see a cosmetic/restorative dentist for an opinion so that all the correct records can be taken to come up with a suitable treatment plan.
