I Have Amelogenesis Imperfecta And My NHS Veneers Are Forever Breaking. What Can I Do?

Q.
I’m 20 years old and I have amelogenesis impecfecta. When I was 16 my dentist at a dental hospital who said I would get veneers when I was 18 when my jaw had functioned properly, due to that dentist leaving and me having a new one I am now been told I will not get veneers on the NHS, I am really unhappy with my teeth. Although over the year I have had a lot of work done on my teeth it’s not forever, the work that’s been done is forever breaking. Just wondering what I can do? As I can’t afford to pay thousands. Thanks.

You may want to find and compare the various prices of the dental clinics in your area. Some offer free consultations. They often offer payment schemes that can spread the cost. The other option would be to ask whether there is another local dental teaching hospital and if they can treat you – your dentist may have to refer you. It’s best to know exactly what treatment you require and who by. If you find how much everything will cost you can work to saving up to that goal. I hope you are able to fix these problems.
