I have a very painful throbbing pain in my front teeth

Q. Hi I have a very painfull throbbing pain in my front teeth. Its so sensitive, i cant eat or touch it as it hurts so bad. Everything is sensitive with this tooth! Cold or warm water! The pain is awful. I also noticed that at the tip of that tooth its very thin, enamel erosion? Also my gums bleed when i brush my teeth, gum disease? Am so scared i will lose my tooth and have no smile! What is the treatment and what will happen to my teeth? what should i do? I am 25, i think i am young for this! I brush my teeth twice a day, morning and night and i don’t smoke, its not fair!!!! You’re advice will be much appreciated, thanks.

A. Hi  I think you will need a root canal treatment to save the tooth. This is a very straightforward procedure so no need to worry.

Kati Says :

I suddenly got painful front teeth yesterday. They were fine all day and had dinner ok, was evening and having a cup of tea and all teeth across right front side hurt, others dont.

It still there this morning, I tried taking paracetomol and anti histamines as I have unusual medical condition and have tingling and numbness around that area which went off after taking anti histamines.

There’s no wheelchair accessible dentist near me and not sure where nearest NHS one. I can’t drive.

I think mines odd it came on so suddenly and wondered if it was neuralgia with me having pins and needles and numbness around that area too on seperate occasion (happened last week) and no pain at that time or until last evening?

I taken paracetomal this morning with my other meds (throxine and anti histamines) hoping it will wear off as i got appointment i cant cancel today but painful to even drink liquid to take tablets earlier.

Any ideas?
