Q. I have had 3 implants and expect to need more. In the meantime, I have a very loose molar, which although causes no pain appears to be infected (sinuses have awful putrid smell and discharge…treating with cipro) if infection clears can I wait for tooth to fall out naturally (held on by just 1 root at this point) rather than pay for extraction…would prefer to save cash for big bucks of implants…how long will it take? also, weird question …can I choke on it should it fall out in my sleep?

A. If the tooth is infected it is destroying the surrounding bone. The longer you wait the less bone that will remain which will effect placing an implant.  The implant might be more expensive as bone re growth may be needed.  You can choke on anything so I guess it is possible.
