I have a tooth infection and need root canal

Q. Hi, I have been told by my dentist that I have a slight infection in a tooth that has aleady been capped & nerve removed. Penicillin has not made any difference. He has said that the only thing would be to either remove the tooth (which he does not recommend) or see an orthodontist for route canal treatment (costing approx £600.00. Is this true, or can anything else be done? Thanks

A. This sounds like good advice as I am sure your dentist has assessed the other possibilities.  If it was my tooth I would try everything possible to save it before having it removed.
