I Have A Protruding Fang Which Bugs Me, Should I Have It Removed?

Q.
Hi Dr Moore, as I’ve grown up, I was meant to have braces when I was younger but I didn’t because my mum neglected it, so I ended up with one protruding tooth on my top row, it looks like a fang which bugs me. After many years of feeling self-conscious about this, I would really like to see if there is a way I can get a relatively normal smile. It doesn’t have to be perfect, I just want the fang removed or something along those lines, please offer your advice and help me with this matter on what would possibly be the best course of action. Thanks.

Hello, thank you for your question, it’s a pleasure to offer my instruction. Based on what you’ve stated before any thorough consultation, I would suggest that a brace would work best as this is an important tooth for your mouth, so removal might not be the best idea at the moment. Braces come in all different shapes and sizes these days, and can offer a discreet way to straighten teeth. I hope this helps, many thanks, Dr Andrew Moore.
