I have a large gap in between my two front teeth, what can I do to fix this?

Q.
Hi,I have a gap in my front teeth which has become very large over the last few years and I think it’s still getting bigger even now,my dentist says there’s nothing he can do with it,I find this quite upsetting because I don’t want to smile without covering my mouth, one dentist said he could put crowns on but they would look stupid because they would be too big and thick for my mouth,it’s really getting me down now. It’s really affecting my self conscious and I would like something fast acting so I can get back to normal again. Have you any suggestions please? Thank you for your time.

Hi, Thanks for your question. It sounds like braces might be your best solution if the teeth and gums are healthy. If the gap is getting wider it might be caused by gum disease so get that checked out first, perhaps with a second opinion from another dentist. Take care.
