I have a huge gap between my front teeth

Q. hello, i’m 18 years old and i have a really big gap in between my front two teeth, i measured the gap, and the bottom bit of the gap measures to be about 4mm, and as it goes up, the gap goes slightly closer together, with a gap narrowing to about 2-3mm. I have really low self esteem for the gap in me teeth, and was wondering, if veneers is the treatment for me? I would apply for Invisalign, but it\’s too expensive for my dad to pay! please help!

A. fixed braces may be an option if invisalign is too expensive. They cost around £3000. Veneers are definitely an option but to have it carried out properly and for the gap to be closed with the teeth in the correct proportion you need at least 8 veneers placed if not 10. If 2 or 4 veneers were placed you can imagine that the teeth would be very wide. There is a type of preparation procedure where we can make the teeth in proportion and make one the back teeth wider so that the front teeth still look good. This can however be more expensive than the invisalign.
Some dentists may offer to put white filling in between the 2 front teeth to close the gap. This will solve the problem of the gap but will give you 2 really wide front teeth instead.

In short, there are many ways to close the gap but if you want to have it done properly then unfortunately you can’t escape the cost. Given your age I think that fixed braces would be the best the option for you.
I’m sorry I couldn’t give you better news
Kind Regards
