I have a fractured root canal and is if there any side effects of having the tooth extracted

Q. I had a root canal on my right back molar. The root canal unfortunately fractured before the crown was put in place and I needed to have the tooth extracted. My dentist is giving me the option of an implant. When I smile the extraction can not be noticed. I don’t mind the space for chewing. My quesion is if there are other effects of having the tooth extracted (will the spacing of my other teeth change, will the top back molars descend if there isn’t a tooth to chew with on the bottem jaw). I would appreciate any advice that you might have.

A. The teeth adjacent to the gap will drift into the space leaving you with small spaces further back, the upper teeth can drop into the space if it is left unrestored
