I have a drooping eyelid after a crown procedure, is this normal?

Q.
I received a Cerec crown on my #19 tooth about five weeks ago.
Because of the great discomfort I experienced afterwards, even after adjustments, my dentist has agreed to replace the crown with a “regular” one. However, shortly after the Cerec procedure I developed a drooping eyelid on the same side of my face. Could any aspect of the procedure have caused this? The amount of spray used seemed excessive and the wanding procedure took much longer than I had been led to expect and involved a lot of very uncomfortable tugging of areas around my mouth and cheeks. What is the content of the spray? Could the wanding have effected my facial muscles? Have you heard of any similar experiences?
Thank you, Doctor

Hello and thank you for your questions

The local anaesthetic could possibly cause some eyelid and facial drooping, but this is usually transient and goes away after a few hours, or at worst a day or so. Did the problem persist?

No other aspect of the Cerec procedure is likely to cause this, it’s probably down to the anaesthetic. I would ask your dentist to check and make sure there is no infection in the nerves of the teeth as this could also cause swelling and consequent facial changes

Kind regards

Mark
