i have a dracula tooth

Q. Hi….I hate my teeth. They are not HORRIBLE but I have one teeth on top that looks like a dracula tooth! And my front 2 main teeth are a LITTLE crooked. I was thinking about getting braces. I am 20. Is that the safest thing to do? I have looked into veeners and bonding - dont know much about them. I dont know how safe veeners and bonding are. So my best bet right now is braces. Or so I think? Also, I dont have dental insurance would you know what type would be the best one to get which covers braces and regular checkups - exrays, fillings, cavity??? ( one that will work in FL and NC, or NC ) ???? p.s. help =-/ Thank You!

A. Braces are always the first option of choice when you hae crooked, cowded teeth.  However many times this only creates teeth in the rigth position and patients still need to have veners or bonding to change the size and shape of their teeth.  If teeth are in the correct position veneers can be placed with minimum damage to the underlying teeth - you will usually  have to have them replaced within the next 10 to 20 years as they start to look a little worn - as your natural teeth do anyway.  On rare occasions the nerve inside the tooth may need to be treated.
Most insuarance does not seem of benefit unless it is part of a company scheme but you should discuss this with your dentist.
