I Have A Chipped Tooth And My Amalgam Filling Shows Through. Can I Have The Filling Replaced?

Q.
Hello Dr Moore, I would like your help. My main concerns are with two teeth. May I have your view to what is the best solution as:
My bottom tooth is chipped inwards showing the whole amalgam filling? I would like to replace the amalgam filling with a white filling and I would like the chipped tooth mended without the crown in place. How is this possible and how is it mended? Also I would like to ask you what’s the best and strongest filling to mend the top tooth (near the gum). Thank you for your help and advice in advance.

Hello. It’s difficult to assess your situation without seeing you in person. Based on your enquiry I would say a ceramic inlay may work best for the teeth as they are very strong and look good too. An experienced cosmetic dentist can provide you with the information you require. This website has information on the various treatments relating to your enquiry which can help you further. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Dr Andrew Moore.
