Q. I had root canal treatment done about 6 months ago. My tooth started hurting about 4 days ago and now I am in a lot of pain. When I bite down on the tooth it really hurts. If I tap the top of the tooth it hurts and feels sensitive. I also have a tingly feeling and pain in my jaw. What is the problem? Many thanks
A. The most common causes are a failed root filling with an abcess forming or root fracture. It needs urgent treatment either way. If you need advice urgently we will be around tuesday am 0121 643 0610.
