Q. Good day Sirs, On Wednesday evening I felt a mild toothache. In the morning on the next day my right chick started swelling a bit. I made an appointment to see a dentist on Friday. The doctor treated the tooth canals, said that there’s nothing bad about the tooth, no pus or any purulent substance just a slight inflammation. She left the tooth open and prescribed me to wash it with salt, soda and iodine water thoroughly throughout the day. The next appointment is on Monday. The pain is gone, but the chick is not getting smaller nor swelling any longer. I’m worried that the tooth was left open, could you please tell me if it’s ok? Thanks.
A. I would prefer not to leave teeth on open drainage for more than 24hrs. ( in line with the protocols adopted by the btish & european endondontic societies )
