Q. Im 17, i had ceramic put on recently. My orthodontic said I would only need to use them for 6 months. I only have a couple spacing problems. Is it possible that i only need them for 6 months when I keep hearing that the average time is 2 years or so.
A. Orthodontic treatment times varies depending on the extent of tooth movements needed, generally closing spaces is easier and quicker than treating crowded teeth or teeth that have rotated round. Orthodontic treatment times do vary from 4 month to 5 years. Do not forget that after the teeth have been moved you will need to wear a retainer.
