I Had Braces When I Was Younger. Now They’ve Moved Back. How Much Will I Be Looking At And Will I Get An NHS Discount?

Q.
Hello Mark,

I wanted to enquire about having fixed braces. I am nineteen years old and a college student. I have had braces before when I was roughly thirteen years old. My teeth have slightly moved due to not wearing my retainer long enough. Would you be able to tell me whether I am able to get braces through the NHS or if I can apply for a certain discount. If not, how much would I be looking at?

Many thanks.

Hi. I do not practice NHS dentistry but I am pretty certain that elective cosmetic dental treatments are not available on the NHS past the age of 16.

Costs of treatment will very much depend on the type of brace you choose or is deemed suitable, the quality of the result you wish for, the complexity of your individual case and the experience and reputation of the dentist of orthodontist involved.
You could start by seeking out a complimentary initial consultation to check if you’re suitable and go from there. Regards, Mark.
