I had an molar extracted and now my upper front teeth are sensitive and uncomfortable

Q. Hi I had an upper back molar extracted three weeks ago. I had dry socket there after but after a week of dressings this has since gone. I am however feeling a slight sensitive sensation in my 2 upper front teeth and it is uncomfortable sleeping as my bite seems to have changed, my teeth do not seem to rest together properly. I am rinsing with a salt water rinse. I am having a bridge in 3 months time, is this normal?

A.

Once your tooth was removed your bite has probably shifted to put more pressure on other teeth your dentist can assess this before any other work is done.  Before your final bridge is placed a temporary bridge should be put in so you can get used to having teeth there again and any adjustments can be carried out on the temporary bridge before the final bridge is made.  3 months is a good time to wait as it allows the extraction area to heal.
