I Had An Accident and A Tooth Had Been Root Filled. Now It’s Discoloured Is It Best To Have Internal Bleaching Or A Veneer?

Q.
Hi Mark, I hope you can help me. Following an accident I had, my front tooth had to be root filled and this is now slightly discoloured. Would this type of procedure work? My dentist is currently trying to bleach the inside as bleaching outside did not work. He is reluctant to put in a post bridge. Would an ordinary veneer be better or would that make the tooth protrude against the other front tooth. I fell on my front teeth which dislodged 7 of them. Thank you.

Hi. It’s usually best to bleach the inside of the tooth (as well as the outside) first – so internal bleaching is the best place to start. If this does not work fully then there are bonding techniques and veneering techniques that could help but it’s best to bleach the tooth first before these options anyway. I hope this treatment works for you. If you would like further information on cosmetic bonding you can search this website. Kind regards, Mark.
