I Grind My Teeth Which Is Causing Problems For My Crowns, Please Help!

Q.
Hi, I wondered if you could help me with a dental matter please? I had my front 4 top teeth crowned some 19 years ago to improve the appearance. (my teeth were off centre as they had move to fill up a gap). They have never really felt comfortable even after all these years I am aware that they are crowned. I do not know if this is caused by the fact that they are quite ‘built up’ on the back whcih the dentist said was to make them strong. Or if it is because my bottom teeth lean back so top and botton do not rest on each other. I have the urge to bite teeth together for no reason which only causes discomfort. What are my options to improve this situation? I don’t know what to do…Thank you for any help. Regards.

Hello and thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to say without seeing you in person but new crowns are probably going to feel less bulky so might be worth redoing the old ones. I hope this helps, regards.
