I don’t know whether to have a dental implant or a bridge, if I decide to receive an implant would it be painful?

Q.
Hi
I’m 26 years old and have had 2 teeth removed which I regret as I didn’t know how much they cost if I needed new ones. Anyway, I’m very confused on whether I should have a bridge or an implant. If I do decide to go for an implant will it be very painful? And as I’m now living abroad in Libya do you advise me to do the surgery here or look somewhere else? Also I’m planning a wedding for April, do I have enough time?
A.
Deciding on whether to have a bridge or an implant is dependent on what the teeth on either side of your gap are like. If they are perfect teeth with none or small restorations you would be better to have implants as a bridge can be destructive to these teeth. However, if the teeth on either side would benefit from crowns then a bridge could be suitable.

Implants are generally not painful to be placed, we recommend for a day or two after you take your regular pain relief that you would for a headache.

You would need to see a dentist to decide a treatment plan and if you would have enough time to get the treatment done before April. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone practicing in Libya to recommend to you.
