I am not happy with the braces I had fitted in India, what can I do?

Q.
hi, I’ve recently had a brace put in whilst i was on holiday in india. they told me my treatment would be complete by 6 months. My front 3 teeth are going inwards and i’d like them moving forward. i was going to stay in india for the full 6 months but deceided to leave after 2 months. would i be able to complete the treatment here in uk?
A.
Dear Enquirer,
If you have has braces fitted in another country, depending on the system you have had fitted, it may be possible to continue the treatment here in the UK. Your orthodontist will assess you and let you know if this is possible.
If you were told that your treatment would take 6 months, it sounds like you only need mild tooth movements, as usually orthodontic treatment takes over a year. You may have been fitted with an Inman Aligner or you may be having a course of short term orthodontics (STO) called a Six Month Smiles treatment.
If you are in the London area, you are very welcome to book an appointment with our in house specialist orthodontist at Sparkle Dental Boutique, who will confirm the correct way forward for you. The practice number is 0208 567 4344
