I am in agony with my teeth and painkillers are not helping, what should I do?

Q.
Hello Doctor. Do you have any idea what could be causing me to be in such pain? I have had pain in my teeth for 2 weeks on and off but now it’s getting so bad that pain killers are not even working and it’s stopping me sleeping it is also giving me a head ache. I have tried using pain killers but they are now not working at all, which is causing me worry. I have also been using bonjela but this is only taking away the pain for a short while is there anything that I can do to help or stop the pain? as it’s beginning to affect my work and sleep pattern. Thanks.
A.
Thank you for your question.

You have not mentioned whether you have received any treatment on your teeth in the last 2 weeks. However whether you have had or not, you need to see a dentist as soon as possible. They will help explore as to why you have this pain and provide appropriate treatment and direction.

Good luck
