I am fearful of the dentist, would I be able to get sedation as part of my treatment?

Q.
Hi i am a very nervous patient when it comes to dentists, when i was 15 i had a really bad extraction that has scared me off dentists tottaly, im now 24 and need some major work in the form of crowns, fillings and proberly another extraction or two, and i guess i would need all that done before i could even think of getting lumineers to then cover it all up? just writeing down all the dental work turns my stomach, would a dentist condider doing the majority if not all the work i need in one visit under sedation?

Hi

I can understand how writing about this makes you feel. I treat a lot of very anxious patients in my practice. Sometimes by just taking out time and building your confidence we can reach the point where you are not afriad any more and of course soemtimes we do have to use sedation.

I think the best thing would be for you to come and see me for an initial ‘get to know each other’ meeting and we can maybe have a look at your dental situation and talk some options over initially. we couldthen also talk about the prospect of using sedation or other techniques to help allay your fears.

Have you considered hypnosis at all….Ihave some great recommendations

hope that helps and kind reagrds
